Free Mondays at The Ringling Museum in Sarasota
Every time I visit The Ringling, I’m reminded how lucky we are to live close to this incredible awe-inspiring estate. It’s always worth the drive from Tampa to Sarasota, especially if you’re able to visit on a Monday.
Each and every Monday, The Ringling offers free admission to The Ringling Museum of Art, Bayfront Gardens, and Glass Pavilion.
Note: The free admission offer does not apply to the estate’s Ringling Circus Museum or Ca’ d’Zan historic mansion.
Don’t be discouraged by the fact that not every part of The Ringling is included in the free admission offer. The 66-acre estate offers so much to see for free on Mondays.
Between enjoying the beautiful gardens by the bay, admiring the Italian Renaissance-style architecture, or browsing the many art galleries showcasing a world-renowned collection, you’ll find plenty of free things to do.
Wondering what to do first? The best way to enjoy The Ringling is to just let yourself wander, relax and see where the wonder of magical estate leads you.

Free Things To Do in Ybor City: Hidden Gems in Tampa’s Historic Latin Quarter
J.C. Newman’s Cigar Museum at El Reloj Cigar Factory
Tampa’s culture wouldn’t be what it is today if it weren’t for the cigar industry. Its Latin flair, spirited Ybor City historic district and famous Cuban sandwich are all products of the cigar industry’s influence on Tampa.
Until the cigar industry rolled into Tampa in the 1880s, Tampa was a small backwater town. By 1910, Tampa was known as the cigar capital of the world.
While the cigar industry mostly burned out by the 1970s, you can still experience its legacy at the last remaining cigar factory still in operation in the Cigar City, J.C. Newman Cigar Company’s historic El Reloj.
A hidden gem and one of the most fascinating free things to do in Tampa, the J.C. Newman Cigar Museum at El Reloj lets visitors step back in time to the Cigar City’s heyday.
You can watch cigar makers roll cigars with traditional, handcrafted techniques and antique, hand-operated machines.
El Reloj is open to the public on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but make sure to arrive arrive before 3 p.m. when cigar rolling stops for the day. For a fee, you can also book a guided factory tour, cigar rolling class or tobacco tasting class at El Reloj.
Jose Marti Park: Where You Can Visit Cuba Without Leaving Tampa
While Ybor City is well known as the place to go in Tampa for a taste of Latin food and culture, many locals and travelers don’t know they can actually set foot on Cuban soil while visiting this historic neighborhood.
Just a couple blocks from Ybor City’s popular bars and restaurants sits 0.14 acres of Cuban land. Parque Amigos de José Martí (Friends of José Martí Park) was gifted to the Republic of Cuba in 1956.
The small park honors Cuban national hero José Martí and other Cuban revolutionaries with ties to Tampa. It even features plots of soil brought from each of Cuba’s provinces.
